Placing a child on the Waitlist
When a family has indicated their interest in enrolling their child in our service, the following will occur:
- Parents/Guardians will complete a waitlist form either over the phone or in person at preschool.
- A tour of our service where the educator conducting the tour will give the family information about the service including, but not limited to, programming methods, meals, incursions, excursions, inclusion, fees, policies, procedures, our status as a Sun Smart service, regulations for our state and the licensing and assessment process, signing in and out procedure, the National Quality Framework, room routines, educator qualifications, introduction of educator in the room the child will be starting in and educator and parent communication. Families are also invited to ask any questions they may have.
- All families of children with additional needs as indicated on their waiting list form are required to make an appointment with the Director to discuss the child's needs. Parents are required to present any relevant documentation from early childhood professionals. Each child's needs will be considered prior to a position being offered. Positions will be based on priority of access, the number of additional needs children enrolled, staff ratios, funding availability and vacancies within the service.
We encourage all families to visit the Centre prior to placing themselves on the waiting list to ensure our philosophy and the Centre suits their families' expectations and needs.
To enrol your child at Medowie Community Preschool you need to place your child on the waiting list. We need to know:
- Childs Name and D.O.B
- Address and Phone Number
- Contact Names
- If your child has a Special Need or Cultural needs
- Day Preferences
Once a vacancy becomes available within the Centre we offer the vacancy to the appropriate family on our waiting list.
When a family accepts a position an appointment is organised for you to come and visit the Centre, collect all necessary forms and Parent Handbook. Upon completion of forms we require an administration fee to be paid, a copy of the child's birth certificate and immunisation records. Once the enrolment and orientation process is complete your child is ready to attend on their allocated days.
The Centre requires an administration fee of $55 per family to be paid upon enrolment. This charge includes personal accident insurance cover for your child and Membership fee while at the Centre.
4 year olds $33 per day
3 year olds $60 per day
Subsidy fees $15 per day
Refundable Fee Bond and Payment
As the Centre operates on a 'not for profit' basis, timely and efficient payment of fees is essential. Our Centre therefore requires a refundable fee bond of two (2) weeks full fees to be paid in advance of care. All parents are asked to read carefully our fee policy upon enrolment at the Centre. Any further enquiries can be answered by the Office Manager.

Child Care Benefit We are a registered provider for the Childcare Benefit and are not eligible for subsidy through Centrelink. However you may be eligible for a rebate on fees through the Family Assistance Office. Our Provider No is 220918680B and is printed on our receipts. After registering with the Family Assistance Office, receipts may be lodged for rebate to be paid into your nominated bank account.
